PowerFlow Yoga

Power Vinyasa Flow Yoga

PowerFlow yoga is a powerful, energetic form of yoga where students fluidly move from one pose to the next while connecting their breathing to their movements. This type of yoga is a vigorous and revitalizing form of physical fitness.

It incorporates strength, flexibility, balance, cardio, physical and mental stamina in one session. PowerFlow incorporates regular sequences that become familiar to students but incorporates variations to modify, intensify, or challenge the body by altering the pace or duration of poses and the frequency that they are repeated. You can expect to do headstands, handstands, arm balances and back bends!

One of the fundamental differences between other styles of yoga and PowerFlow is the speed of practice. PowerFlow is usually quicker than regular yoga. The vigorous, flowing style of this yoga has a cardiovascular benefit where you burn calories and tone and stretch muscles.

If you decide to try a PowerFlow class, prepare to work hard and to work up a sweat. Classes will vary widely from teacher to teacher, but they usually include far more intense flowing yoga poses and less chanting and meditation.

Is PowerFlow suitable for beginners?
Definitely not! PowerFlow builds on the endurance and range of movement acquired in our Vinyasa and/or Ashtanga classes. If you enjoy those, you’ll love PowerFlow.
